ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI SCHOOL CELEBRATES CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK 2012 JANUARY 29 – FEBRUARY 3 |
| Catholic Schools Week celebrates what makes Catholic education distinctive and exceptional. During the week, we focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities, and our nation. We build community awareness of and involvement in Catholic schools throughout the country. At SFA we honor those who contribute to the success of our school: students, families, faculty, staff, volunteers, community supporters, and local and national leaders. The theme this year is “Catholic Schools: Faith, Academics, Service”. The theme expresses three priorities that make Catholic schools stand out from other educational institutions. Please join us for our planned activities and visit the classrooms during our Open Houses. We look forward to celebrating St. Francis of Assisi School with you. |

SERVICE. in our Parish: We begin each Catholic Schools Week with Sunday Mass bringing together members of the parish and school communities to celebrate the Eucharist. Monday, January 30FAITH. ACADEMICS. SERVICE. in our Community: Today we recognize the strong bond our schools have with the communities in which they are located. Not only do Catholic schools contribute to the quality of life in their hometown, they rely on their communities for the support and resources that enhance their success. As a service project, the students will be participating in the “Teens for Jeans” Campaign. This day of fun and celebration will include two American classics: jeans and ice cream. Students will be treated to a complimentary, Americana style lunch. Today’s Prayer is A Student’s Prayer. |
