PRE K NEWS FEBRUARY 6-10 2012

This week we will learn about the letter S for spider, spaghetti, snake and snow.

The number this week will be 5.

Our sight words are go and to this week.

I am sending home 3 book orders for you to look over. Don’t forget if you didn’t use your coupon you can on this order.

MONDAY: Snake Supper is our story today. We will be making a snake.

HOMEWORK: Letter S sheet.

Practice writing number 5 in your homework book.

TUESDAY: Today’s story will be More Spaghetti I Say. We will be making homemade spaghetti and having it for lunch. It will be served with tomato sauce, plain or butter. Please sent in a drink for your child. If your child does not
like spaghetti, please bring your own lunch.

                            HOMEWORK: Letter S book.
                                                      "Go" sheet.
                                                       Number 5 sheet.

WEDNESDAY: Our Story today is Miss Spider’s Tea Party.

HOMEWORK: Page 24 in homework book.

Practice writing number 5 in your homework book.

THURSDAY: We will hear Snow Family and How to Build A Snowman. We will be making a snowperson.

HOMEWORK: Find 5 pictures of s things and glue them in your Alphabet Book.

Practice writing number 5 in your homework book.

Practice writing go on the sheet.

FRIDAY: We will hear Stars, Stars Stars and I Am a Star.

This week we will learn about the letter P for popcorn, pancakes, pajama party, penguins, puppies, pirates and pizza.

We will be learning the number 3.

The sight word this week is my.

We will be learning about the letter Q for quilt, queen and quarter.

We will review numbers 1 and 2 this week.

We will continue with the sight words I and see.

The parents who will be coming with us to see The Paper Bag Players on March 1, 2012 are Mrs. Asaro, Mrs. Sarchese, Mrs. Acevedo and Mr. Zilinski.

We will be learning about things that begin with the letter O like owls, octopus and Oscar.

2 is our number this week.

The sight words are I and see.

The children are making progress in writing their name. I will be sending home a practice sheet to the children who need more practice. Please have them do it and return to school the next day.

Tuesday is our Bake Sale. If you want your child to purchase a treat, please send in $.50.

I’ve enclosed the January book orders. If you would like to purchase any books, please return the order by January 16th. The children received a book certificate for Christmas. You can use it anytime from January to June for any book up to the value of $4.00. If you misplaced it just send in the book club and title you want to order.
