Minor Subjects - Art | Print |

During the first trimester of the 2012-2013 school year, students will be learning about Vincent Van Gogh. He was a Dutch artist who had a vey different way of painting. His style of art is known as post-impressionistic. Van Gogh often liked to paint sunflowers. We will also be looking at the work of other artists who painted in the same style.

For the second trimester we may be looking at the work of another Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian, he was known for painting a grid of horizontal and vertical. Lack lines and using only the 3 primary colors.

Finally, for the third trimester, students will either be learning about Henri Matisse or Pablo Picasso..

All students in K-8 are graded on following directions and art room rules, behavior, being prepared, and the proper use of tools and supplies. In addition, students in grades 4-8 are tested once every trimester on the information given during class which posted on the SFA website for them to study from. Sketchbooks will also be graded this year.
