The Classroom Charter of Grade 8 for the 2011-2012 School Year

As a class we want to feel:

• wanted, respected, special,
• comfortable and safe,
• good about ourselves, happy and joyful,
• equal,
• well-prepared and confident
• and kindly treated

To accomplish this we will treat each other the way we want to be treated, and offer praise for each other’s accomplishments and good tries.

We promise to refrain from activities that will lower each others' self esteem and not talk behind each other’s backs or speak badly about others in their presence. We will not call each other names, include others in activities and keep everybody in the loop by communicating with them

We will respect each other and his/her property and not touch or take anything without permission. We will accept responsibility for our actions and make amends or restitution when necessary.

We, the undersigned, pledge to follow this charter in order to create and keep up a positive atmosphere in our learning and working environment.
