Starting in October the children will be participating in our annual Book It Program. I have sent home a detailed letter outlining my expectations. This program will continue through March and is part of their nightly homework. Please encourage and support reading in your home. It is the best way to help your child meet with success in school. |

Sunday, October 16, is our first Pre-Communion Mass. This is an all important event as the children are officially enrolled into the program. Please make every effort to attend this special Liturgy. Our children are called up to the altar and witness the miracle of the Consecration in a very special way. Sharing this moment with your family and loved ones is a wonderful way to begin your child’s journey on the road to discovering their faith. |

In ELA students are being introduced to writing in paragraph form. It is a huge endeavor for them. One way you can assist them is to encourage them to write their homework spelling sentences on their own. Much like reading, strength in writing only comes when a student feels confidence in their ability to complete the task. Once they see that they can do it on their own, they will! The more they are immersed in reading and writing, the more confidence they achieve, and that is most of the battle. Join me in setting the stage to enable your children to be the best students they can be. |

As we get closer to holiday celebrations please remember to give goodie bags to your class reps. These treats should be given to them so they can create an individual “take home” bag for each child. This is a great help to me and I would appreciate your support. |
