We, the First Graders of St. Francis of Assisi School are expecting to have a year filled with friendship and learning. Throughout this year, we want to feel hopeful, excited, thankful, surprised, proud, safe, liked, and most of all happy.
We know that this takes work and we will have to try hard.
We will feel hopeful when we look forward to each new day so that we can do a little better than the day before.
We will make our classroom a safe place to be by playing nicely and respecting each other’s space.
We will all feel liked when we use our manners, listen to each other, help each other, and speak to each other with kind words.
We will feel so proud of ourselves and of one another when we all do our own very best work and we will surprise ourselves with how much we’ll learn each day.
When we pray together as a class, we will feel thankful that we are all together, that we have our loving families, and that we are lucky enough to go to SFA. We will feel thankful for all of God’s blessings.
We will feel excited to see one another each morning and we’ll make sure to say hello and to smile.
We will share with one another and we will be sure to return what we have borrowed. Doing this will make us feel happy.
As a class, we decided that these were the most important things to us. We will try hard to keep our promises to ourselves and to each other. We will think about our actions and always try to remember to treat others as we would like to be treated.
