“If and when you get in touch with your personal Word it will have a way of transforming everything else in your life because you will have meaning and purpose that will be life-giving, energizing, and fulfilling in a way that nothing else can be."

“Divine Light shines in those whose lives reflect love. As the river makes its way to the ocean, may I surrender to the flow of new life! Then will I trust all is working together toward the wholeness of humanity. Then will I help rebuild the soul of the world with Love."

Happy St. Patrick’s Day
“…Enjoying the intimacy within the communion of the Trinity, Francis invites us to make a dwelling place within our hearts for the Divine Mystery of the Trinity…let us always make a home and dwelling place there for Him, Who is God the Almighty, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”

Catholic Schools Week 2013
January 27th to February 1st, 2013
|
The idea of Catholic Schools Week began in 1974 as a joint project between the National Catholic Educational Association and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. To date, there have been 39 CSW celebrations in all – all expressed by a common theme or thread that highlights the many values that a Catholic Education inspires to develop in the young people in our schools. Last year, we at St. Francis of Assisi School, along with the other 7,000 Catholic Schools across the United States, celebrated with the theme of Faith, Academics, and Service. This year our 2013 school-year theme is Catholic Schools: Raise the Standards. This year’s theme was chosen to express how today’s Catholic schools are evolving and working towards implementing the new rigorous academic guidelines outlined by the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and infusing more Catholic teachings, principles, and values into our curriculum through a Common Core Catholic Identity Initiative (CCCII). During our opening mass procession for CSW, our students presented four special gifts that represent our school- a cross which symbolizes our ever-present faith and our school mission, a Netbook demonstrating the necessary technology tools required for modern 21st Century teaching and learning, a CCSS flipchart that the teachers utilize each day, which represents the high instructional teaching standards we are aspiring to master, and a Penny Jar from our Change Challenge Fundraiser that shows our desire to share with and serve others.
