FAITH. ACADEMICS. SERVICE. in our Parish: We begin each Catholic Schools Week with Sunday Mass bringing together members of the parish and school communities to celebrate the Eucharist. Please join us at our special School Mass at 11:00 a.m. as we honor our distinguished graduate, Roger DeBonis, Class of 1976. Enjoy our school’s Open House from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Come and share the excitement as we exhibit our students’ work in the SFA Literacy Fair which will be displayed in the lower school

WORLD YOUTH DAY 2011
This year the Holy Father will be going to Madrid for World Youth Day, August 15th to the 21st. As you can imagine hundreds of youth from around the world, will attend and participate in the many teaching sessions that will be available. The Holy Father will celebrate an evening vigil of prayer on Saturday, August 20 and will celebrate mass with the youth on Sunday August 21st.
We here in St. Francis of Assisi are honored to have one of our young people going to this world event with the Pope. Nicholas Mistretta, who graduated from St. Francis, is the brother of our 5th Grade teacher, works in the rectory and on the weekends as a sacristan, will be attending the World Youth Day and will represent our parish.
Please keep him in your prayers and all the young people who will be participating in this wonderful religious experience with our Holy Father.

There will be an Alumni Gathering
on Saturday, June 4th.
|
We will begin with 5:00pm Mass
at St. Francis of Assisi Church
and then dinner and festivities will follow at
Central Lounge

Astoria, NY
from 6:30pm - 10:30pm.
Graduates from classes 1956 - 1985 are invited to attend.

No payment is permitted at the at the door.
